“100 Years ago we had better technology than today”: Helldivers 2’s Original Game Veterans are Pointing Out an Airborne Aid that Would Make the Shriekers a Doddle, And Offer a New Perspective of Attack

Helldivers 2 has a lot of stratagems to aid players during the Galactic War, but some are longing for one that was featured in the original game. Humblebee was Helldivers’ eye in the sky that helped them see into the distance and find their target with ease.

Players of the original game who are currently involved in the fight for democracy say it was a “better technology.” It did come in handy during the first Helldivers given that it was a top-down shooter and made sense to use such an aid. However, things have changed in the sequel, and the stratagem might not be much help for the players now.

Helldivers 2 Players May Not Find the Stratagem Much Useful

Helldivers 2 features a variety of stratagems in the game.

A sniper rifle would do the trick for Helldivers if they don’t want terminids and automatons away from them. Their vision would improve greatly and so will the damage to their enemies while using weapons like APW-1 Anti-Material Rifle. But the original Helldivers players would prefer the company of some old flying comrades.

In one discussion that was sparked over the social network Reddit, a user named Patrykus19 shared an opinion, saying they had better tech a century ago, referring to the original game where the story takes place a hundred years ago.

Several Helldivers joined the conversation, with one user dubbed Captain_Floop saying it was his favorite, alongside another support drone called Angel. Angel was essentially the healer and restored health of the players.

User Viscera_Viribus too, appears to be a fan of the stratagem and shared how useful it was in the battle during the Helldivers 2 predecessor.

As the game is simply a first-person shooter, players simply need to understand the ability stratagem holds may not come in handy in Helldivers 2.

The Humblebee Days Are Gone, Players Should Get Used to it

The thing with Humblebee is, an airborne aid like it can aid in a specific setting, much like the original Helldivers. Inclusion of stratagem like this needs some alteration that includes feature the players can actually use. Maybe it can detect incoming enemy hordes, which could make it a bit useful.

Kerzizi shares his opinion on the matter and thinks devs cannot “implement a high range radar scan feature” in the current game.

As the game has changed a lot in terms of gameplay, stratagems like Eagle Airstrike, Orbital Laser, Eagle 500kg Bomb, and more prove to be more faithful assistants than Humblebee.

While Humblebee was without a doubt a humble one, players need to get used to the abundant stratagems in Helldivers 2. And if they look closely, they’ll find that many of them can make life a lot easier in this fight for democracy.

Which stratagem strikes you the most in Helldivers 2? We would like to know about it in the comments section below.
