Kansas State baseball makes its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013 and its first in six years under coach Pete Hughes on Friday night against Louisiana Tech in the Fayetteville Regional at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The Wildcats (32-24) are seeded third in the four-team regional, with Louisiana Tech (45-17) the No. 2 seed. K-State is coming off a 1-2 performance in the Big 12 Tournament, while Louisiana Tech most recently lost in the Conference USA championship game.
Super-senior left-hander Owen Boerema (6-3) will be the starting pitcher for K-State, with lefty Luke Nichols (4-3) getting the call for Louisiana Tech. K-State leads the all-time series, 3-1.
