Athlon Sports names 12 Clemson football players as All-ACC selections

Early this week, Athlon Sports revealed its 2024 preseason ACC All-Conference selections. Clemson had 12 players selected.

The Tigers come in fourth behind Florida State (17), Virginia Tech (14), and Miami (13). Across the four All-Conference teams, Clemson has five offensive selections and seven on defense. It wasn’t just a couple of positions. It has at least one All-Conference selection in every position except quarterback, including three defensive linemen, two offensive linemen, three defensive backs, a linebacker, a running back, a wide receiver, and a tight end.

Here’s how Athlon made its selections, followed by Clemson’s All-Conference selections:

An important note on the all-conference teams: These are based on how players will perform in 2024. Career statistics and awards matter in the evaluation, but choosing players for the 2024 all-conference team is largely based on predicting and projecting the best for the upcoming year. Also, team strength does not play a role in selections. These are the best individual players at each position in the league for ’24.
