From projected finishing order to Heisman contenders, predictions are flying in from many experts and publications as we wait for the 2024 season to begin. Today’s prediction deep dive comes from Athlon Sports, which has predicted bowl and College Football Playoff projections in their preseason publications.

The SEC is expected to send eight teams to bowl games while four more are projected to make it to the expanded College Football Playoff. Early projections indicate that programs such as Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Florida will miss postseason bids this season.
