The Government of Canada is committed to ensuring that communities across the nation have the necessary infrastructure to thrive, build more housing, and maintain robust connectivity.

Today, Sean Fraser, the Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities, on behalf of Pablo Rodriguez, the Minister of Transport, announced a significant investment of up to $8.3 million for Halifax Stanfield International Airport. This funding aims to enhance the number of international and domestic passenger flights.

The project involves the construction of a new international connections facility at Halifax Stanfield International Airport. This facility will streamline the connections process, making it quicker and more convenient for passengers arriving from international flights and those connecting to other domestic destinations. Furthermore, it will enhance cargo hold capacity, thereby increasing the flow of goods between Nova Scotia and international markets.

By improving passenger connectivity and facilitating trade, this initiative supports the development of vibrant communities in Atlantic Canada, providing the infrastructure they need to grow and prosper, while also promoting economic and environmental benefits.
