Charleston International Airport nominated for ‘Best Small Airport’ in USA Today

Charleston International Airport earned a nomination for Best Small Airport by USA Today, the airport announced Monday.

The nomination, part of USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards, highlights CHS’s commitment to excellence in customer service, innovative amenities, and its role as a vital gateway for travelers exploring the Lowcountry and beyond, officials said in a news release.

“We are honored and excited to be nominated for this esteemed award,” said Elliott Summey, chief executive officer of the Charleston County Aviation Authority.

“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. Our goal is to make every traveler’s experience at Charleston International Airport as smooth and enjoyable as possible.”

The nomination follows a series of recent accolades and improvements, including upgrades to terminal facilities, enhanced security measures, and expanded flight options, airport officials said.

CHS has consistently been recognized for its high standards and exceptional service, contributing to its growing popularity among travelers.

Voting on the awards begins Aug. 26 and runs through Sept. 23. It is open to the public, and airport officials encourage everyone to vote daily.

The winner will be announced on Oct. 2.

“Being named ‘Best Small Airport’ would be a tremendous honor and would reflect the collective efforts of our entire airport community,” Summey added. “We invite everyone to support us by voting and sharing their positive experiences at CHS.”
