College World Series schedule today: Bracket, scores for Wednesday’s CWS baseball games

Since it began on Friday, the 2024 College World Series bracket has been relatively orderly, with two games — one in the afternoon and one at night — played on each day of the competition.

On Wednesday, things will be slightly more chaotic.

Due to inclement weather postponing a matchup between No. 2 Kentucky and Florida that was set to be played Tuesday night, Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska will play host to three CWS games on Wednesday, a day in which three more squads could get eliminated from the tournament and a championship series could be set.

The contest between the Wildcats and Florida that was supposed to be played Tuesday night will now be held on Wednesday morning. The loser of that game will be knocked out of the double-elimination tournament while the winner will move on to face No. 3 national seed Texas A&M in a game played that night. If the Aggies win that game, they will move on to the CWS championship. But if they lose, there will be a rematch on Thursday to determine who will play in the championship and who will go home.

Sandwiched between those games will be a meeting between No. 1 Tennessee and No. 8 Florida State. The Vols can continue their undefeated run and advance to the CWS championship with a win over the Seminoles, whom they previously defeated in a controversial 12-11 walk-off thriller in their CWS opener (after rallying to score four runs in the ninth inning). A Florida State victory would necessitate a third game between the teams on Thursday, with the victorious side earning a spot in the CWS championship.
