Dorothy (Korzeniewski) Pacos

Dorothy (Korzeniewski) Pacos joined Our Lord on May 25th, 2024 after recently celebrating her 101st birthday.

Dorothy had been a resident of Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the past 3 yrs, where she was kindly cared for.

Dorothy was born May 16th, 1923 to Theodore and Mary Korzeniewski.

Dorothy graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1941 with a Regents Diploma in business. She was very proud of her high academic skills and grades. After graduation, she was hired by Carl Harter, CPA. She would shine in the accounting field which she had great understanding and passion for.

In 1942, Dorothy married Michael E. Pacos. Together, they were blessed with 5 children, Dennis, James, Patrick, Mary Paulette and Andrew. With her husband, they started their construction company, Pacos Construction Co., Inc. on June 1st, 1950. Through their hard work and skills, they built a successful family-oriented business. Dorothy was the brains, Mike was the brawn.

It’s hard to separate Dorothy from Michael, because they were a team. Dorothy wasn’t just a successful businesswoman, she was a good mother. Dorothy was active in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, St. Hyacinth’s Mother’s Club, St. Hyacinth’s Our Lady of Fatima Club.

Throughout her many years of life, Dorothy enjoyed her time with family, their winter home in Hollywood, Florida. Mike and Dorothy traveled, enjoying their time together.

Dorothy had suffered great losses, her three children. The deaths of Dennis, Patrick and Andrew, and her husband of 73 years, Michael and granddaughter Debra Schuler. She stayed firm in herdevotion to the Catholic Church, and Jesus Christ, her savior.

Dorothy is survived by her son, James (Linda, deceased) Pacos, daughter Mary Paulette (Jerry) Pacos-Kaminski, Chuck Gavazzi (Andrew, deceased), grandchildren Karen Abram and Lynn Pacos, Beverly, Heather and Jamie Pacos, Matthew, Nicholas and Ken Pacos, Gregory and Brian Tisdale, Kathryn (Pacos) Stanley, Michael and Samuel Pacos, and 12 great grandchildren.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours on Thursday, May 28, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 29, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Mary Angela Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery.
