High heat index today and to start the work week

Good morning, Heartland, first off, it’s pretty foggy out this morning, so take extra precautions as visibility will be limited in some areas. However, there is a heat advisory in effect this afternoon, through Monday evening. This is because heat index values will be between 105 and 110. Take extra precautions, wear loose, light colored clothing, drink water, take breaks from the heat when possible, and wear sunscreen. Expect plenty of sunshine throughout the afternoon. The high heat, high humidity, and sunshine is going to continue through Tuesday. By Tuesday night, a front is going to move into the Heartland bringing heavy rain. This rain could potentially cause some flooding issues.

Following storms Tuesday night into Wednesday, temperatures and humidity will go down. Temperatures will bein the low 80s Thursday and Friday. By Saturday, expect a small warm up, as temperatures begin to creep toward the mid 80s. Partly cloudy skies are expected through the end of the week and into the weekend.
