Lake Mary Little League takes on Wailuku, Hawaii tonight to be one of the last six teams playing in the 2024 Little League World Series.

The Florida Little League team won its first two games vs. Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Puyallup, Washington before losing to Boerne, Texas on Sunday. A JJ Feliciano sac fly and DJ Mieses home run secured a win Tuesday against Staten Island, New York. The Southeast champs play a Hawaii team, representing the West region, that beat Newtown, Pennsylvania on Tuesday thanks to pitcher Evan Tavares’ 12-strikeout gem.

The winner of tonight’s game plays Henderson, Nevada on Thursday for a place in the U.S. bracket championship game. Keep scrolling for updates and highlights from Lake Mary’s game.

Looks like Leynes-Santos’ night is done as Matthew Yang takes over on the mound for Hawaii here in the fifth inning as Lake Mary leads 4-3.

Luis Calo comes in and gets back-to-back strikeouts to get Lake Mary out of the bases-loaded jam. Huge two outs there by Calo as Lake Mary holds its lead at 4-3 heading into the fifth inning.

Lake Mary makes a pitching change as Luis Calo comes in from right to pitch, replacing Jacob Bibaud on the mound.

Lake Mary looked to have had an inning-ending double play but Chase Anderson couldn’t hold onto the throw at second, leading to all Hawaii runners being safe and a run scored to cut the Lake Mary lead to 4-2. Then Matthew Yang singles into left field plating one run to cut the Lake Mary lead to 4-3.

Gauge Pacheco puts Hawaii on the board with an RBI double to the left-field wall to cut the Lake Mary lead to 4-1. Bases loaded now for Hawaii with one out after Lake Mary intentionally walks Evan Tavares.

Lake Mary can’t capitalize on an opportunity to extend its lead as it strands runners on the corners in the fourth.

A three-up, three-down inning on the mound for Bibaud in the bottom of the third sends Lake Mary into the fourth with a 4-0 lead.

Goodnight baseball. Garrett Rohozen starts the top of the third with a solo home run to left field to extend Lake Mary’s lead over Hawaii to 4-0. Absolutely smoked off the bat of Rohozen.

Kamalei Leynes-Santos comes into pitch for Hawaii in the top of the third.

Hunter Alexander extends Lake Mary’s lead to 3-0 with a single into left field scoring Teraj Alexander from third. Lake Mary is showing its depth in its lineup as Norton and Alexander, the No. 11 and No. 12 hitters, put up two RBIs in the inning.

The bottom of the lineup comes through for Lake Mary as Lathan Norton lines one up the middle to score Luis Calo from third to extend the lead over Hawaii to 2-0. Bases remain loaded with one out as Hunter Alexander comes up to the plate.

Starting on the mound for Lake Mary in Wednesday’s game vs. Hawaii is Jacob Bibaud. Bibaud played in left field in Tuesday’s win over New York.

Lake Mary takes advantage of a throwing error by Hawaii as Garrett Rohozen brings in JJ Feliciano on an RBI groundout to third. Feliciano, who reached base originally on a fielder’s choice, advanced to third on a throwing error by Hawaii’s catcher on a stolen base attempt as the throw went into center.

Lake Mary couldn’t extend its lead as it left two runners on base in the inning.

Lake Mary is the designated away team in Wednesday’s game vs. Hawaii and will come up to bat first. Starting the night at the plate for Lake Mary will be second baseman Chase Anderson.

Lake Mary is making its first trip to the Little League World Series. They are the 24th Florida team to make the trip to Williamsport, and while eight teams from the Sunshine State have been runners-up, no Florida team has won the championship.

Lake Mary is a suburban city in Central Florida’s Seminole County, about 20 miles north of Orlando.
