Lorraine A. Mialki

Born in Gowanda, NY the daughter of James and Katherine (House) Wait July 13, 1952.

Lori graduated from Gowanda Central, Class of ’70, she went on to the State University of NY in Fredonia where she received her Bachelor of Arts. Lori worked as a Counselor with the New York State Department of Corrections in Collins. Prior to working in Corrections, she worked at the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center. Her state employment spanned more than 35 years. A devout Christian, Lori was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a church elder, a member of the choir, and served on various committees within the church.

Survivors include her husband; John K. Mialki, whom she married at the church January 8, 2000. Her children; Lindsey Post of Columbus Ohio, Kit (Hilda) Myer-Post of Cheektowaga , grandchild; Willow Myer-Post , a sister; Linda (Greg) Peters, brother; David Wait all of Little Valley, and her former husband Byron Post. Lori was predeceased by her nephew, Donald S. Johnson.

A Celebration of Lorraine’s Life will take place Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00am from the First Presbyterian Church 64 East Main St. Gowanda (please assemble at church), for any anecdotes or stories you’d like to share please email postcm01 @gmail.com A luncheon to follow Lori’s service . There will be no prior visitation . Pastor K.C. Clark-Porter lead Pastor of the church will officiate.

Arrangements are by the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda.
