STARKVILLE — Jeff Lebby‘s first game as Mississippi State football’s new coach is today.

The Bulldogs open the 2024 season at Davis Wade Stadium against Eastern Kentucky. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. with the TV broadcast available on SEC Network+.

Mississippi State has 53 new players, the 16th most in the country. Blake Shapen is the headliner, a Baylor transfer who was immediately named the starting quarterback. Other notable transfers include Kelly Akharaiyi, Ethan Miner, Stone Blanton, Makylan Pounders and Kevin Coleman.

Eastern Kentucky went 5-6 last season in the FCS.
