The City of Dunkirk is excited to announce the return of Music at the Point Sunset Concert Series every Wednesday starting July 17 through Sept. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Point Gratiot. The event is sponsored by Southern Tier Environments for Living, Inc. (STEL), Lawley Insurance and DFT Communications.
Cosmic Cowboys is scheduled this Wednesday with upcoming performances to include the following dates/bands: July 24 (STEL V.I.P. Night) – The Trend, July 31 – Classic Rock Allstars, August 7 – Ion Sky, August 14 (Lawley V.I.P. Night) – The Living Room Jam Band, August 21 – DTO, August 28 – Furious George and September 4 – Bill Ward.
The Cosmic Cowboys have been playing the area since 2019. They consist of Dan Raynor (vocals, guitar), Jerry Waite (guitar) and Corky Gloff (bass, vocals). They cover mostly classic rock with a few outlaw country songs thrown in the mix.
Some of the music you might catch them playing includes Eric Clapton, John Cougar Mellencamp, Steve Earle, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Rolling Stones, CCR, and other crowd favorites.
Visitors are reminded to bring a chair, snacks and refreshments and enjoy the sunsets and music at Point Gratiot.
A special thanks goes out to Roger Gloss of Atlas Comfort Cabins/Lawn Mowing/Enviro-Kleen Services for donating the use of the portable toilet located near the music pavilion.
