By Premier Inn has unveiled a new study identifying Asia’s clearest viewpoints by analysing average cloud coverage and visibility. The findings ensure travelers can enjoy the best views without the disappointment of cloudy skies.
The study, which examined weather data for 2023, revealed that Mehtab Bagh in India offers the continent’s best visibility. Known as the ‘Moonlight Garden,’ Mehtab Bagh provides striking views of the Taj Mahal from across the Yamuna River.
Following closely is the Padar Island Viewpoint in Indonesia, offering a panoramic vista of three diverse beaches – one white, one black, and one pink. Tianmen Mountain in China ranks third, featuring glass walkways and views of ‘Heaven’s Gate’ and the Zhangjiajie landscape below.
Seoul Sky Viewpoint in South Korea, with its glass-floored skywalk, ranks fourth, while Kengamine Peak in Japan, at the top of Mount Fuji, completes the top five. This peak offers 360-degree panoramic views that can extend to Tokyo Bay, the Izu Peninsula, and even some of the Izu Islands on the clearest days.
Japan, Malaysia, and Indonesia are notable for having more than one viewpoint in Asia’s top 15. Japan’s Tokyo Skytree ranks sixth, while Malaysia’s Mount Kinabalu and Langkawi Sky Bridge rank ninth and twelfth, respectively. Indonesia also features twice, with Mount Batur at eleventh.
A Premier Inn spokesperson commented, “There is nothing worse than reaching a summit or viewing platform only to find your view shrouded in clouds. We aimed to provide a list of the most reliable views so travelers can ensure they experience the best sights possible.”
