By After weather prompted a lengthy delay between No. 3 overall Texas A&M and Florida on Saturday in the College World Series, college baseball’s Tuesday pair of elimination games could be impacted as well.
No. 4 national seed UNC and No. 8 Florida State are scheduled to open play at 2 p.m. ET from Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. According to the National Weather Service, rain chances begin to pick up after 5 p.m., with a 57% chance of rain likely nearing the end of the ACC matchup.
While that game looks like it could reach its conclusion, the chances of the nightcap between SEC foes No. 2 Kentucky and Florida appear slim. With the first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, there is a 95% chance of rain, and those chances don’t drop below 90% until midnight, when it reaches 87%.

The weather has not been a severe factor during the CWS thus far, but the Gators-Aggies game was severely impacted. It was scheduled to start at 7 p.m. ET but did not start until 11:15 p.m. Texas A&M emerged with a 3-2 victory over Florida after 2 a.m. ET.
The two Wednesday games are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET, with No. 1 Tennessee and No. 3 Texas A&M each sitting at 2-0 and awaiting their semifinal matchups. Both teams would need to lose twice to be eliminated, and need one win to advance to the best-of-three-game championship series.
According to the NCAA’s weather policy for the College World Series: “No game will be skipped, meaning each game will continue in the order it is scheduled to play. If weather changes the date, the delayed/rescheduled game will still precede any future games.”
