S Rlys announces booking dates for festive season travel – News Today | First with the news

As the festive season approaches, rail transport remains a preferred mode of travel for long-distance journeys, thanks to its convenience, safety, and affordability. However, the high demand during festivals often leads to overcrowding on trains. To address this issue, Southern Railway has introduced a new initiative, allowing travelers to book their train tickets up to 120 days in advance through the IRCTC website or at ticket booking centers.

This year, the celebrations of Ayudha Puja and Vijayadasami, which fall on Friday, October 11th, and Saturday, October 12th respectively, coincide with a three-day holiday preceding Ayudha Puja. Anticipating a surge in travel plans, Southern Railway is encouraging passengers to secure their tickets early to avoid last-minute hassles.

For those planning to travel on Wednesday, October 9th, reservations opened on Tuesday, June 11th. Similarly, travelers aiming to depart on Thursday, October 10th, can book their tickets from June 12th. Southern Railway officials have specifically advised travelers who wish to depart on Friday, October 11th, the day of Ayudha Puja, to make their reservations starting from June 13th.

By enabling early booking, Southern Railway aims to streamline the reservation process and ensure a smoother travel experience for all passengers during the festive period. This proactive measure is expected to help manage the high volume of travelers and reduce the usual congestion seen on trains during peak seasons.

Travelers are encouraged to plan their journeys well in advance and take advantage of the extended booking window. By securing their tickets early, passengers can avoid the disappointment of fully booked trains and enjoy a hassle-free travel experience during one of the busiest times of the year.

For more information and to book tickets, passengers can visit the IRCTC website or contact their nearest ticket booking centers. Southern Railway remains committed t
