Sharon L. (Woleben) Bane, aged 91, of Westfield, NY, passed away on July 18, 2024, in Erie, PA, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and enduring spirit. Born on June 3, 1933, to the late Harlow and Edith (Reid) Woleben, Sharon’s early life in Westfield set the foundation for a journey filled with warmth, family, and a passion for the simple joys of life.

Sharon graduated from Westfield Academy High School and soon became a valued employee at Westfield Sewing Factory, later contributing her skills to Westfield Hospital. Her diligence and work ethic were only matched by her dedication to her husband of 52 years, the late Robert N. Bane Sr., with whom she built a life exemplifying partnership and mutual support.

Her love extended to her children, mourning the loss of her son Robert N. Bane Jr., but always cherishing moments with her daughters Pamela A. (Gene) Bane Lyon and Barbara E. (late Michael) Bane Sanders. Sharon’s heart grew with each addition to her family, embracing her role as a grandmother to Kimberly Schruise, Kelly (Liz) Williams, and as a great-grandmother to Damian, Nathan, Paige, and Landyn. Great-great-grandchild Kayden added another layer of joy to her extensive family tree.

Sharon’s interests painted the tapestry of her life: she found solace in reading, recharged through camping, expressed herself through painting, crafted beautiful creations, and cherished every visit with friends. Her half-sister, the late Joanne Oakes, shared many of these joys, as did her beloved dog, Ladybug.

Survived by several nieces and nephews, Sharon’s memory will be kept alive through the stories they share and the traditions she instilled. Sharon’s light, laughter, and artistic touch will forever resonate with those fortunate enough to have felt her presence.

Relatives and friends may visit Westfield Presbyterian Church 49 S. Portage St. Westfield, NY Monday July 22, 2024 from 12PM to 2PM where a funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Kristen Woodring officiating.
