By WILLIAMSPORT, Pa – The Boerne All-Stars take another step on Wednesday toward winning the Little League World Series.
Boerne (2-0) is the first local team since McCallister Park in 2009 to make it this far into the double-elimination tournament.
Boerne takes onPaseo Verde Little League from Henderson, Nev. at 2 p.m.
Julian Hurst hurled a gem on Monday night, throwing a 10-strikeout complete game to lead the Boerne All-Stars to a 4-1 win on Monday over Lake Mary in the Little League World Series. Hurst allowed just three hits and no walks on just 78 pitches in the stellar outing.
In their opening game,Kole Newson hit a grand slam in a massive fifth inning to lead the Boerne All-Stars to a 9-0 win on Aug. 15 over the Mid-Atlantic team from Pennsylvania.
The Nevada (2-0) squad defeated the West Region team from Wailuku, Hawaii 3-2 to advance to their showdown with Boerne.
Boerne Independent School District is hosting watch parties at several schools today.
