VIA Rail and Hack Club proudly invite members of the media to join us for the launch of an extraordinary journey that seamlessly blends innovation and collaboration. We are thrilled to present an unparalleled opportunity to witness 50 of the world’s most talented high school coders, hackers, and makers as they set off on VIA Rail’s iconic transcontinental train, The Canadian. Their mission: to develop cutting-edge tech solutions for pressing environmental challenges.
This once-in-a-lifetime experience, aptly named the “mobile hackathon,” will see Hack Club members—a non-profit network devoted to empowering youth to forge a sustainable future through technology—travel from Vancouver to Toronto to Montréal over four days. Throughout this journey, participants will not only traverse Canada’s stunning landscapes but will also engage in a series of projects and workshops dedicated to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and addressing both current and future climate issues.
To mark the beginning of this remarkable collaboration, VIA Rail will host a special event in Vancouver. We extend a warm invitation to media representatives to join us, capture the essence of this exciting initiative, and share the story of this innovative journey with their audience.
