By Louisiana Tech baseball will look to pull off a major upset in the Fayetteville Regional in the 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament.
The Bulldogs (45-17) are the 2 seed in the regional and will open the tournament against 3 seed Kansas State (32-24) at 7 p.m. ET at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The winner of the matchup will play the winner of host No. 5 Arkansas and 4-seed Southeastern Missouri.

Louisiana Tech is 14-20 all time in the NCAA baseball tournament and is seeking to surpass the regional round for the first time in program history. In its last postseason appearance, Louisiana Tech opened the 2022 Austin Regional with a victory over Dallas Baptist but dropped its final two games to face elimination. The Bulldogs beat Alabama and went 2-2 in the Ruston Regional in 2021.
The Bulldogs in 2024 won the Conference USA regular season title but fell to DBU 17-10 in the conference tournament championship game on Sunday.
Kansas State, meanwhile, earned its first NCAA tournament berth since 2013, and the fifth time in program history. This marks the Wildcats’ first appearance under coach Pete Hughes, who is in his sixth season with the Wildcats. The Bulldogs are 1-3 all-time against the Wildcats. On March 6, earlier this season, Kansas State beat Louisiana Tech 7-4.
