What time is the College World Series today? Schedule, score for CWS Game 3 of championship series

The journey that was started in February has come down to this: a winner-take-all Game 3 of the College World Series.

To take the words of Texas A&M manager Jim Schlossnagle, No. 1 Tennessee and Schlossnagle’s No. 3 ranked Aggies will “get to play” in the final game of the 2024 college baseball season on Monday, June 24 at 7 p.m. ET at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

After falling behind 1-0 in the series, the Vols took Game 2 against the Aggies in the only way Tony Vitello’s team knows how to win this postseason: the long ball. Trailing 1-0 heading into the seventh inning, Tennessee left fielder Dylan Dreiling launched a two-run home run missile into the right field stands to break the Vols offensive silence. Then an inning later, catcher Cal Stark, who had recorded a back-pick play earlier in the game, snapped an 0-for-16 skid at the CWS with a two-run home run of his own to give Tennessee the eventual 4-1 victory.

The 4-1 loss Sunday is the first loss for the Aggies in the NCAA baseball tournament, snapping a perfect 9-0 record since the Bryan-College Station Regional Round. Despite the loss, there were quite a few highlights for Texas A&M Sunday, including Jace LaViolette hitting his team-leading 29th home run of the season and Chris Cortez striking out seven across 4 1/3 innings in relief.

History will be made Monday night in Omaha, as neither program has won a College World Series title in program history. If it is the Aggies, Texas A&M will become the first Aggies major men’s program to win a national championship since 1939. It will also mark the fifth consecutive CWS title for the SEC, regardless of who actually wins.
