Henry Searle latest

It’s bad news for British fans over on Court 10, with Henry Searle losing the third set 6-4 to Marcos Giron.

Can the reigning boys’ champion, 18, come back from 6-3 3-6 6-4 down? It’s now a huge ask.

Jack Draper levels on Centre

British No1 Jack Draper has levelled his first round clash with Elias Ymer 3-6 6-3 on Centre Court.

The 28th seed broke serve in the fourth game of the set, before remaining solid on his own delivery to tie the match at one set-apiece.

Leylah Fernandez comfortably through

Canadian star Leylah Fernandez could be one to watch this week at Wimbledon.

The 21-year-old, who was beaten in the 2021 US Open final by Emma Raducanu, has found form on the grass – having reached the Eastbourne final last week.

She has now breezed through to round two in SW19, getting past Lucia Bronzetti 6-4 6-3 on Court 17.

Next up she’ll play either Caroline Wozniacki or Alycia Parks.

Brit watch latest

World No215 Fran Jones has taken the first set against Petra Martic out on Court 15.

The Brit, 23, is now just one set away from her first ever Grand Slam victory.

Elsewhere, Jack Draper still trails Elias Ymer on Centre Court after losing the first 6-3, but does hold a 4-1 lead in the second.

Katie Boulter has safely won through 7-6 7-5 against Tatjana Maria, while Henry Searle is tied 6-3 3-6 3-3 with Marcos Giron on Court 10.

Dan Evans is still to come, while Cameron Norrie has just entered the court with opponent Facundo Diaz Acosta.

Katie Boulter through to R2!

British No1 Katie Boulter has booked her place in the second round with a 7-6 7-5 victory over Tatjana Maria.

At times bamboozled by Maria’s slice-heavy style, the No32 seed overcame her initial struggles to prevail in straight sets.

She will now face compatriot Harriet Dart in a Battle of Britain second round clash on Thursday.

World No1 through

Iga Swiatek has beaten Sofia Kenin 6-3 6-4 in her first grass court event of the year.

The Pole, 23, was taking to the court for the first time since winning the French Open last month.

In her way was a potentially tricky first round against former Major champion Kenin, who dumped Coco Gauff out at this stage last year.

Swiatek was not to be denied, however, and has taken her place in round two with little fuss.
