Pics of his kids inspired Bully Boy

Michael Smith revealed snaps of his children kept him focused as he wobbled during a nailbiting victory over his best friend in darts.

Bully Boy saw off Chris Dobey’s nagging fightback to win 11-9 and reach the World Matchplay quarter-finals.

Asked about why he kept looking down inbetween visits to the oche, Smith said: “I kept on looking at my pictures of my children.

“They’ve come a long way to watch me here and I thought, ‘they haven’t come all this way for that’.”

However, Smith’s verdict on his “nervy” performance was a touch harsh, particularly as Dobey produced moments of magic.
